2. Lighting

In any photography lighting is the key factor, without light, your photos will not properly expose even poor lighting conditions can give you underexposed photos or harsh lighting can give overexposed images.

According to the lighting condition, daylight is the best natural source of lighting, but make sure either you have take photos either after sunrise before the sun becomes harsher and before sunset that time you will get the desired light. In the case of harsh light, we will have to use a diffuser.

3. Manual Mode

If you really wanted to learn macro photography you have to shoot in Manual Mode. In Auto Mode camera takes the charge and you haven't got control over your setting like (Aperture, ISO, and Shutterspeed). When you shifted from Auto Mode to Manual Mode you have full control over your settings, you can experiment and shart shooting for better images. Nowadays most of mobile also having Manual Mode, try it, you will see a huge improvement in your images.

4. Use Continous Shooting mode / Brust Mode

Brust Mode means continuous shooting if you long-press your camera shutter button you will see many images will be captured in one series. You may sort out which images you want to keep. The most benefits are you will not lose any moments while you shooting insects / Butterflies and they keep moving.

5. Sharp Focus

If your images are not sharp enough there is no use of that images and you will be demotivated. When you have set all your settings correctly tap on the subject before press the click button, focus bracket will be highlighted on your subject then shoot according. If the subject changes its position you should keep moving and tap on the subject and lock the focus.

6. Stabilize your phone

While we tracking moveable subjects it's difficult to use your mobile in handheld for a long time, If you use Tripod / Gorilla Mini Tripod for mobile, you will see your images will be shake-free and sharp. You can use a tripod with a mobile adapter or a monopod easily available in the market at a very reasonable price. If you are confident enough you can shoot handheld too, make sure use both the hand to get better results.

7. Fine-tune your composition


In Macro Photography Composition plays a vital role. Especially background of your images should not distract the subject and your images attract the eyes with details and the photographer's perspective should be well versed. Framing is a very important part of photography and as important in macro photography too. 

My suggestion use Gridlines ( Check your camera setting you will find- make it on) to keep your subject on between intersection points to get more eye appealing. Background blur also creates magic to the images. You can only learn by experiments and experiments.

8. Be Patient

Macro Photography or any other photography cant be possible if you are impatient. The basic quality of a photographer has to be patient. Some day you get your desired results, someday you will get disappointed, but if you have patience then only you will succeed in any field either in photography or any other field.

You have to wait for the right moments when you will press the camera button, it comes automatically with the experiments and experience. The movement of insects you need to closely monitor, check your composition, camera settings are in comfortable angle and then start shooting. You need also be prepared for all weather conditions. Your macro photography will be only noticeable if are able to showcase the behavior of the subject as there should be a story that describes your images and create freezing moments for the viewers.

9. Know the weather

If you shooting macro in outdoor conditions if have to prepare for all weather conditions, it may be in the rainy season or winter or may in summer. Taking care better precaution of yourself and your camera gear is a vital point among all other points.

10. Editing

Image Post Processing or Editing a last and important factor. Your images will be enhanced while doing Post Processing / Editing in a Desktop or in Mobile. In Mobile Snapseed, Lightroom is the best editing software where you can edit your images easily.
